Kiran is currently pursuing her Master’s degree from the Department of Civics & Politics, University of Mumbai. As a student activist, she has had experience in working in grassroots movements with various student organisations and NGOs. Having been awarded a Diploma in Community Based Participatory Action Research (CBPAR) through the PUKAR Youth Fellowship ’19-20, she is passionate about research in social issues. Her research interests include mental health, gender, environment and disaster management, from an inter-sectional lens.
She is also the recipient of the YES Foundation ‘Media for Social Change’ Fellowship 2019. Trained by the NDRF team in the State Level AVHAN Disaster Management Training Camp 2018 during her years in NSS, she has since conducted sessions in colleges and camps.
Apart from this, she spends her time in writing and participates in creating empathetic and safe spaces. She is an animal lover and her quirks thrive by indulging in films and poetry.
